HR, Health Care and Workforce Development Policy Committee
The Human Resources, Health Care and Workforce Development Committee addresses issues relating to labor regulation, healthcare, health and safety, workers' compensation, employee-reporting requirements and other HR-related legislation. The committee meets the third Friday of each month at the BIA office in Concord. Meetings begin at 8:00 AM and are open to BIA members.

Bill sponsors Rep. Mary Stuart Gile (D-Concord) and Senator Dan Feltes (D-Dist. 15) will be our November presenters and provide an update of HB 628. This bill, retained by the House and recently given a bi-partisan "Ought to Pass with an Amendment" by the House Labor Committee, establishes a new, insurance-like program, paid by employees and administered by the Department of Employment Security to provide a level of compensation for participating employees granted FMLA time by their employer.
3. Review of HR/Employment, Health Care and Workforce Development Related Legislative Service Requests for the 2018 Session
We will review LSRs (Legislative Service Requests) relating to HR/Employment, Health Care and Workforce Development, the early indicators of what we are likely to see in the 2018 session.
